#inktober - 10-12-14
I was going to use thinner pens too, but I got lazy and stuck with what I was using at the time (my trusty Faber Castell PITT brush pen).
No, I haven’t tried stylized hiragana before. So if it looks wrong, uh…y-yeah…
WHERE’S MY MONEY
Cure Black cosplay
The sorceress and the black knight on a quest to kill the sun god. #Inktober day 14
To me, HachaPre makes DokiDoki seem like a masterpiece, and that one had practically a literal Mary Sue as a protagonist. I honestly hope whatever PreCure season comes next, they don’t have Yoshimi Narita as the scriptwriter.
The characters feel soulless, the music is unmemorable (with easily a worse OP than Fresh, which takes a pretty fair amount of effort), the side characters are obnoxious (Even Seiji became kind of irritating, he started out as a pretty rare type. A nice, realistic and normal dude who is not bishied-out in a Shoujo anime, wow.) At first it sort of felt like Heartcatch 2.0, but that would be a huge insult to Heartcatch. This is basically Yes! PreCure 4! and ugh, it’ll be great once the 2015 series is revealed, hoping it’ll be as far from this as possible.
This is just my opinion on it, if you like it, that’s cool too.
EDIT: Damn, really? I’m the only one? I guess it’s also because this feels way more like the original ones. Wasn’t really a fan of the first five series, I’m an odd one who pretty much liked everything from Fresh to DokiDoki, Heartcatch and Smile being my favorites. Thanks for the reasonable responses, it’s nice to see people who like stuff who don’t get angry about other people not liking stuff. PreCure fanbase, you’re alright in my book.
I’ve seen around 5-10 people (not only on here, btw) who don’t like HapiPre. With every season, with anything, there will be a divide of some sort. So never feel alone. It’s just a lot of the time, a vocal majority seems like it’s everybody. (‘:
hime-samurai, you truly are one of the most remarkable people I’ve ever met. You wonderful soul.
just a quick doodle of Pretty Cure. Found out that today is Nagisa’s birthday, the girl in the middle, so I decided to draw something with her since she’s one of my favorite characters; she starts as a cranky, negative girl who just wants to be normal, but pretty soon you find out that she puts the happiness of others before her own, and she’s willing to give up her own happiness to help others, even if it hurts her.
She pretty much ends up being a real hero and an inspiration for her friends. Hee, It’s fun seeing her complaining and pouting when she’s forced to do something, but then you will see her go beyond of what others ask of her, or giving up things really important for her because she would rather other people to be happy. And let’s not forget she becomes an unstoppable juggernaut if you make the mistake of hurting her loved ones, family and friends; episode 42 is still one of my favorites, I will never forget that primal scream of undiluted RAGE and pain when she finds out Honoka is in danger
The original idea behind the pic was that Nagisa decides to buy a ring for a special somebody and the other two dorks, Saki and Hibiki, are tagging along while their partners stay with Honoka… but I’m too lazy to draw the rest of the scenes
my princess, the most cute one i love ´v`)/
I made The Witches’ Daughters for Terrestrial, an anthology of earth-themed fantasy comics edited by Amanda Scurti. You can also read it at its forever home on my portfolio website.
The anthology debuted at SPX 2014, and now you can buy it here! It’s full of lovely comics and illustrations, and I’m very happy to be included in such good company.
This is marvelous!
